The Music Request Tracker helps you keep track of student music requests, including song details, score links, costs, and reimbursement status. Everything is organized into "Pending" and "Delivered" sections so you can easily see what still needs attention.
-
Adding a New Request:
Click the purple "New Request" button
Fill in the required fields (marked with *):
Student Name
Song Title
Artist
Optionally add:
Score Link (URL where the sheet music can be found)
Cost (if you purchased the score)
Click "Add Request" to save
Managing Your Requests:
Click "Mark Delivered" when you've given the score to the student
Click "Mark Reimbursed" (appears only if there's a cost) once the student has paid you back
Click the trash icon to delete a request you no longer need
The purple bar at the top shows how many requests are waiting on delivery
The yellow bar shows the total amount you're waiting to be reimbursed

Important: Your data is stored ONLY in your own web browser on your own computer.
Your data never leaves your device
It is NOT stored on my server or website
No one else can see your data
Each person who uses this tool has their own completely separate data
If you use a different browser or computer, you won't see your data (unless you import it - see Export/Import below)
-
The tracker offers three ways to export your data:
1. Excel Export (Green Button)
Downloads a spreadsheet file (.xlsx)
Opens in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Apple Numbers, or any spreadsheet program
Perfect for:
Printing a hard copy of your requests
Creating reports
Sharing with others (like a school administrator)
Doing calculations or analysis
File includes all request details in an easy-to-read table format
2. JSON Export (Blue Button)
Downloads a backup file (.json)
This is a data file that can be imported back into the tracker
Perfect for:
Backing up your data (recommended!)
Moving your data to a different computer or browser
Archiving requests at the end of a semester
Restoring data if you accidentally clear your browser
Save these files somewhere safe (like Google Drive, Dropbox, or your computer's documents folder)
3. Import (Orange Button)
Loads a previously exported JSON file
Adds the imported requests to your current data
Use this to:
Restore a backup
Transfer data between computers
Continue tracking after clearing your browser
Recommended Workflow: Export to JSON regularly (weekly or monthly) as a backup, so you never lose your data!
